My wife and I spent a sunny day in Nantucket and in the late afternoon went to Young's Shop to rent a couple of bikes. They have a friendly staff, with this guy called Jasper giving us great directions to enjoy the hours we would still had in the island. We just loved the path to Dionis Beach and the place itself. The bicycles were also pretty comfortable and well maintained.
Use Youngs, best bikes & service. I rented my bike for 2 days & only used for 1 day and Jim the manager, very nice gave me a refund no questions asked.
I recently rented an auto from Young's and had a mixed experience. We have rented bikes there many times and always found the staff accommodating and helpful. This time, not so. I called in advance to indicate we would be returning later than planned on the day of our return, and returned 5 hours after our original time of pick-up. I expected to pay extra, but was unhappy to hear that would be a whole day's rental. When asked why a whole day, the staffer said abruptly "its a whole day to me". Instead of going into the shop and buying T shirts as we had planned, we walked away thinking we'd try another shop next time. Its the off-season, and a time for a little courtesy and to win loyalty, but that was just not happening.
Great place, friendly staff. We rented bikes for the whole family and I (optimistically) got the for the whole day. We lasted less than 2 hrs with little kids, and when we returned them they automatically refunded the difference ($44). That was really nice, they didn't have to do that.
We rented bikes Sunday 10/1 & had the best service and easiest time with the rental. I sadly left our camera in the trailer & didn’t realize until a week later. When I called & spoke with Brett he said they had it and would be able to ship it back to us in Florida! I’m so thankful there are still good honest people in this world. They are professional and kind and deserve so much kudos for their honestly. Rent from them you won’t be disappointed!! Can’t wait for our next visit either!
